Templates for MODX

Templates for MODX Getting Started
MODX is a powerful content management system that allows you to create websites of any complexity. One of the main advantages of MODX is the ability to use templates to create a unique website design.

Templates for MODX are ready-made design solutions that contain all the necessary design elements, such as color scheme, fonts, page layout, etc. Using templates can significantly reduce the time it takes to develop a website and improve its appearance.

Choosing ready-made templates

To choose a template for your website, you need to pay attention to several important factors. First of all, the template should match the theme of your website and be convenient for users. You also need to pay attention to the quality of the template code so that it is optimized for search engines and works quickly.

Since there are no ready-made templates for MODX 3 (or rather, there are, but in isolated cases, and their quality usually leaves much to be desired). I recommend looking for regular html / css / js templates, there are a lot of them, both free and paid, finding them is easy, just type in the search query: adaptive html templates – tens of thousands of sites will open.

Here is a list of sites where I usually get templates:

  • bootstrapmade.com (many free similar, but quite nice templates).
  • themeforest.net – a bunch of paid premium templates.
  • wrapbootstrap.com – a bunch of paid premium templates.
  • templatemonster.com – many paid and there are quite a few free templates.
  • startbootstrap.com – many paid templates.

As part of this documentation, we will integrate a multi-page template from bootstrapmade.com into MODX: called FlexStart – we will create a multi-page site with a blog (business card, corporate).

You can download the template for free in the following documentation lesson: Integration of HTML templates with MODX.
